The transition from Fall to Winter is an ideal time for regeneration. Using the ancient wisdoms of Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra we will dive into a practice of asana, breathwork, meditation and chanting. We will also discuss simple daily lifestyle tips to include diet, herbs and cleansing options.
The cooler months bring us into what is called Vata season. Vata is the element of air and embodies the qualities or dry, rough, windy, erratic, cool, subtle, and clear. The ways in which we balance Vata is by incorporating a daily routine that is warm, grounding, oily and full of nourishment. Vata is responsible for all the motion inside and outside of the body. Therefore, the asana poses and sequence will be one that is slow and steady getting you deep into to the pelvis. By holding deep hip openers after a slow and steady flow we will release the excess wind and create steadiness in the mind preparing us for a mantra meditation.
We will invoke the energy of Ganesha, the elephant headed god who resides in the root chakra and is the remover of obstacles. Ganesha is the gravitational field which creates stability and focus. He is the lord of the senses, the elements and material form. The perfect companion as we ground into the fall season.
